Prominent Nigerian businessman, Femi Otedola, has hailed the Dangote Refinery as the “eighth wonder of the modern era” following President Bola Tinubu’s recent visit to the state-of-the-art facility in Lagos.
President Tinubu toured the $20 billion Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Plant on Thursday, describing the project as a monumental investment and a model for future development.
In a post shared on Friday via X (formerly Twitter), Otedola expressed admiration for the scale and vision of the refinery, and praised the leadership behind it.
“Today, I witnessed history. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, our visionary leader, visited the $20 billion Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Plant — the largest single-train refinery in the world, an eighth wonder of the modern era, built by my dear friend and brother, Aliko Dangote,” Otedola wrote.
He also commended President Tinubu for commissioning the Deep Sea Port Access Road in Lekki, a critical infrastructure project linking the Dangote Fertiliser Plant to Eleko Junction within the Lekki Free Trade Zone.
Reflecting on the broader vision, Otedola highlighted Tinubu’s long-term commitment to economic development in Lagos.
“Over two decades ago, as Governor of Lagos State, President Tinubu envisioned a thriving economic hub on the Atlantic coast — now realized as the Lekki Free Trade Zone. Today, that vision is a reality, built in steel, concrete, and ambition,” he said.
Otedola further lauded Tinubu’s leadership, stating, “A great leader takes people where they may not want to go, but where they need to be. That is the essence of President Tinubu.”
He concluded with an optimistic message about Nigeria’s future, emphasizing his continued support for the administration’s reforms.
“Nigeria is rising, and those of us who believe in her will continue to support the bold reforms that will make her the greatest transformation story of the 21st century,” he added.
