In a landmark move poised to reshape Nigeria’s fuel supply landscape, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced it will begin nationwide distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel to marketers, petrol dealers, manufacturers, telecom firms, aviation companies, and other large-scale consumers starting August 15, 2025.

As part of the rollout, the company has deployed 4,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers to enhance its distribution network across the country. The initiative, which includes free logistics support, is expected to improve fuel accessibility and reduce transportation costs for end users.

“This program is a strategic part of our commitment to eliminating logistics barriers, supporting sustainability, and contributing meaningfully to Nigeria’s economic development,” a company statement read.

The new distribution plan includes the establishment of CNG daughter booster stations nationwide, supplemented by a fleet of over 100 CNG tankers for local and regional product movement. This infrastructure investment aims to boost the reach and efficiency of fuel supply, particularly to underserved and rural communities.

Open to Major Sectors

The refinery stated that the offer is open to petrol marketers, dealers, manufacturers, telecom operators, aviation companies, and other major fuel consumers. Those purchasing directly from the refinery will also be eligible for enhanced logistics support, aimed at reducing fuel costs and easing inflationary pressures across industries.

To support bulk buyers, the company is also introducing a credit facility for purchases starting at 500,000 litres, allowing qualified buyers to obtain an additional 500,000 litres on a two-week credit basis, secured by a bank guarantee.

Aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda

Dangote Refinery affirmed that this initiative supports the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The scheme aligns with national efforts to stabilise fuel supply and promote inclusive growth, supported in part by the government’s Naira-for-Crude exchange program.

The initiative is also expected to rejuvenate dormant petrol stations, create jobs, energise small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and strengthen investor confidence in the country’s downstream petroleum sector.

Registration Open Until August 15

Stakeholders interested in joining the program can register between June 16 and August 15, 2025, during a 60-day Know Your Customer (KYC) verification window.
