JEANNETTE, Pa. – Ebara Elliott Energy (EEE) announced that its landmark 100MW Power Upgrade and Electrification Initiative has been selected as a finalist for the prestigious 2026 Gulf Energy Excellence Awards in the Midstream Energy Project of the Year category. The annual awards program recognizes extraordinary capital projects across the global energy sector for technical innovation, safety performance, and operational excellence.

Completed at EEE’s Jeannette, Pennsylvania manufacturing facility, the project quintupled the site’s testing capability from 18.7MW to a utility-grade 100MW (134,102 horsepower). This expansion places EEE within an elite, single-digit group of global manufacturers capable of fully validating world-scale turbomachinery under real-world, full-speed, and full-load conditions prior to field installation.

"Being named a global finalist by Gulf Energy Information validates our commitment to providing the mechanical and electrical certainty our customers require," said Ron Josefczyk, Vice President of New Apparatus at Ebara Elliott Energy. "As LNG and midstream operators transition from gas turbines to large electric drives, our Jeannette facility serves as the premier one-stop shop to de-risk capital investments, eliminate field commissioning delays, and accelerate decarbonization."

Key project highlights and performance metrics submitted for the award include:

•Operational Excellence & Fiscal Discipline: Fully commissioned 13 days ahead of schedule and delivered significantly under initial budget allocation, maintaining a zero-incident safety record (0.00 TRIR) across all trade partners.

•Grid Stability Innovation: Our custom capacitance damping system regulates voltage within ±3% in 155 milliseconds, protecting regional grid stability during peak load testing.

Quantified ESG Impact: Replacing a 100MW gas turbine with an electric motor eliminates ~10,000 tons of CO2 annually, while full-load testing saves customers an estimated $5M per project in field remediation costs.

The winners of the 2026 Gulf Energy Excellence Awards will be announced live at the annual black-tie gala in Houston, Texas, this October.
