Eterna Plc has announced a major leadership reshuffle with the appointment of Dr Jude Nwaulune as its new Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, effective May 14, 2026.
The company also confirmed the retirement of Mrs Phoebean Ifeadi as Executive Director, Corporate Services, effective May 13, 2026.
The leadership changes were disclosed in separate notices filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) and signed by the Company Secretary, David Edet.
Dr Nwaulune succeeds Mr Olumide Adeosun, who resigned as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer effective May 13, 2026.
In a statement, the company expressed appreciation to the outgoing CEO, saying: “The Board expresses its sincere appreciation to Mr Adeosun for his valuable contributions, leadership, and service to the Company during his tenure and wishes him every success in his future endeavours.”
Eterna said Dr Nwaulune’s appointment reflects the Board’s confidence in his leadership capabilities, commercial expertise, and extensive experience in petroleum retail expansion, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) penetration, petroleum bulk storage management, and nationwide distribution operations.
Dr Jude Nwaulune
Before his appointment, Dr Nwaulune served as Managing Director of Rainoil Logistics Services Limited. He brings over 19 years of experience spanning sales, marketing, business development, logistics, and operations management within Nigeria’s downstream oil and gas sector.
According to the company, he has played a key role in driving strategic growth initiatives, operational efficiency, and market expansion across multiple segments of the energy industry over the past 12 years.
His expertise covers corporate strategy, supply chain optimisation, brand development, and business transformation.
Dr Nwaulune holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, graduating with Second Class Upper Division honours. He also earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism with distinction in Public Relations and Advertising from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), as well as a Master of Science degree in Marketing Communications and a PhD in Strategic Marketing Management from Babcock University.
He is affiliated with several professional bodies, including the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN), the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), and the Nigerian Institute of Training and Development (NITAD).
The company also highlighted his academic contributions, noting that he has published articles in local and international journals, authored three books, and participated in executive training programmes and conferences across Nigeria, Africa, and Europe.
Meanwhile, Eterna announced the retirement of Mrs Ifeadi from the Board after nearly five years as Executive Director, Corporate Services.
Mrs Ifeadi, who joined the Board in October 2021, was commended for her leadership across the company’s corporate services functions and her contributions to strengthening institutional frameworks, operational structures, and corporate governance practices.
“The Board extends its profound appreciation to Mrs Ifeadi for her outstanding service and wishes her continued success in her future endeavours,” the company stated.
