“These are calculated efforts by those who feel threatened by reform, transparency, accountability, and change,” the statement read in part. “This group is actively spreading lies and misinformation simply to discredit NNPC Ltd.’s leadership and derail the organisation’s ongoing transformation.”
NNPC Ltd. stated that the smear campaign appears to be a response to its drive to become a corruption-free, performance-driven energy company, aligning with the mandate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration.Despite anticipating an escalation of “defamatory content” in the coming weeks, the company insisted it remains focused and undeterred.
“We urge our dedicated staff, stakeholders, and all patriotic Nigerians to stay focused, ignore the noise, and not be discouraged. We remain on mission,” the management concluded.
