President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 officials to key federal agencies and commissions, with former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose appointed as Chairman of the Board of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).
The appointments, which take immediate effect, span 10 government agencies and commissions and are aimed at strengthening governance across strategic institutions.
As REA board chairman, Fayose will work alongside Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta, who were appointed as non-executive directors. The board also includes the agency's Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, and three previously appointed executive directors.
In the National Salary and Wages Commission, President Tinubu appointed Major General Junaid Bindawa as chairman and named former House of Representatives member, Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas, as secretary of the commission.
The President also appointed Dr. Ogbole Ene Lilian, Oladele Olatubosun and Yakubu Umar Barde as commissioners representing Benue, Oyo and Kaduna states, respectively. Other members of the commission are Dr. Mai Adamu Yau (Borno), Ginika Florence Tor (Enugu), Engineer Lawrence Okoh (Edo) and Bello Morenike Iyabode (Kogi).
Tosin Johnson Adeyanju, who previously served as Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund, was redeployed as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Commission.
Other appointments include Dr. Abuh Mohammed as Director-General of the National Population Commission, Dr. Akinola Odeyemi as Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET), and Dr. Anthony Inalegwu Godwin as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.

Engineer Julius Oloro was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM), replacing Dr. A.R. Kamal, who passed away in January.
President Tinubu also inaugurated the board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, with Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Saidu serving as chairman. Other board members are Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Aliyu Makama, Dr. Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola.
Additionally, Shuni Muhammad Dahiru was appointed Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, succeeding Professor Shu'aibu Shehu Aliyu, who was earlier reassigned to the Petroleum Trust Development Fund.
To fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Mathias Byuan, former Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority, the President appointed Gisaor Vincent Iorja, an economist, legal scholar and Secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission, as his replacement.
According to the Presidency, all the appointments take effect immediately.
