EnergyNet UK Limited, organisers of the 2026 Powering Africa Summit, have announced that Honourable U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright will attend the Powering Africa Summit (PAS) 2026, heading up the official United States Government delegation. His participation brings Cabinet-level leadership to PAS, reinforcing its position as the leading platform for advancing U.S.-Africa energy cooperation, investment, and project delivery.


According to a statement by the firm, Wright's participation at the 2025 PAS was for a high-level fireside chat on energy access and clean cooking.

From the U.S. Department of Energy, Secretary Wright will be joined by Shiyana Gunasekara, Deputy Director for African & Middle Eastern Affairs and the Secretary’s Lead for Global Clean Cooking Access, who will represent the U.S. Department of Energy in the session: Meeting the Moment – How Billions of Investment in Universal Energy Access and Clean Cooking Are Transforming the Continent’s Future.


The session will examine how large-scale programmes, including Mission 300, are expanding energy access at scale while strengthening productive use and ensuring long-term financial sustainability.
