The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) sustained its winning streak at exhibitions with a clean sweep of awards at the just concluded 29th Enugu International Trade fair.
Apart from clinching the award for the overall best exhibitor and participant at the Fair, the corporation also received accolades for being the most reputation-conscious participating organization as well as the most valued and outstanding participating outfit. NNPC was also on song for staging the best organized corporate special day at the fair.
Enugu State governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, who was represented at the closing ceremonies of the fair Tuesday, by the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Sam Ogbu Nwobodo, thanked NNPC for its support to various Chambers of Commerce in the country, especially the Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, ECCIMA.
He expressed gratitude to the GMD for gracing the NNPC special day, saying he learned a lot at the corporation’s pavilion.
On the streak of awards pocketed by the NNPC, the Governor said the honour was well-deserved while hoping that it would serve as tonic for the corporation to do more good work and deepen its partnership with ECCIMA.
President of ECCIMA, Pharm. Emeka Udeze presented a special recognition award to the NNPC GMD, Dr. Maikanti Baru, for what he called the NNPC helmsman’s unwavering support and commitment to the development of Commerce and Industry in the country. He expressed optimism that the next edition of the fair would surpass this year’s feat.
On his part, Vice President of ECCIMA who also doubled as the planning committee chairman for the trade fair, Jasper Nduagwuike, said NNPC’s outing was unprecedented and highly encouraging, noting that the government and people of Enugu State were proud of the corporation.
He called on other corporate organisations to emulate the NNPC’s example.
Speaking while receiving the special recognition award on behalf of the GMD of NNPC, Mrs. Elizabeth Agun-Enwefah, of the Public Affairs Division of the corporation, expressed gratitude to ECCIMA and the people of Enugu State for their hospitality and support.
Organized by the Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, ECCIMA, the 29th Enugu International Trade Fair held from 16th to 27th March, 2018 at Golf Estate, GRA, Enugu.
The event which attracted notable organizations, including ministries, departments and government agencies, also had most of the states in the South East in attendance.
The NNPC had earlier won the overall best award at the 30th Kaduna International Trade Fair in February.
