The Pre-Conference of Parties 2018 (Pre-COP 24) organised ahead of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (UNCCC) will hold at the United Nations Information Center (UNIC), Rewane Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, Nigeria on Wednesday, November 14 by 9.00 am.
The event themed: NDCs score cards of nations: Nigeria at COP 24.
The dialogue will enable stakeholders in private sector and civil society to interrogate, understand the status as well as the position of country’s implementation of a national plan flowing from Nigeria’s ratification of the 2015 Paris Agreement, the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC).
It will also discuss the role of Block Chain technology in the emerging development paradigm, particularly with respect to the financing of sustainable economic governance.
Speakers at the event include: Professor Olukayode Oladipo of the University of Lagos; the Director of Climate Change/ Nigeria Focal Point, FME, Dr. Peter Tarfa; an Ecologistics, Dr Paul Abolo and Dr Jubril Adeojo from Heritage Bank. They will discuss Nigeria’s NDC implementation; Blockchain technology; Climate Finance and Carbon Markets and Carbon Farming and sustainable food security.
The United Nations Climate Change Conference will take place from December 3 to 14, 2018 at Katowice, Poland.
