JEANNETTE, Pa., and FUTTSU, Japan — Oct. 27, 2026 — Ebara Elliott Energy (EEE) today announced the official opening of the Futtsu No. 2 District in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, featuring "E-HYETEC"—the world’s first commercial-scale product test center for liquid hydrogen pumps using actual liquid hydrogen at -253°C (-423°F)—and "E-HYEFAB," a co-located cryogenic equipment manufacturing facility.
The integrated site combines development, prototyping, testing, assembly, and final shipment within a single operational footprint. Testing machinery under actual operating conditions using real fluid accelerates development cycles while ensuring unrivaled safety and reliability for large-scale energy transition projects.
"As the global energy sector transitions toward carbon neutrality, establishing a safe, resilient hydrogen supply chain is paramount," said Nobu Miyaki, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Ebara Elliott Energy (EEE). "E-HYETEC and E-HYEFAB enable us to deliver fully verified, commercial-scale cryogenic pumps and blowers directly to energy projects worldwide, supporting our customers’ decarbonization goals with complete confidence."
Spanning 18,000 square meters with a building area of 2,800 square meters, E-HYETEC serves as EEE’s global center of excellence for hydrogen equipment. The facility conducts rated full-load operational testing on booster pumps, cryogenic return gas blowers, and fluid systems. Advanced safety systems include early-leak hydrogen sensors, automated emergency ventilation, and centralized digital monitoring.
Integrating manufacturing and actual-fluid testing in Japan strengthens global supply chain efficiency, enabling faster delivery timelines and comprehensive lifecycle support for energy producers, industrial gas companies, and EPC contractors advancing toward 2050 net-zero goals.
