The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has unveiled a new Anti-Corruption Policy Document aimed at strengthening ethical conduct, transparency and accountability across the organisation.
The policy was unveiled on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the TCN Corporate Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja, by the company’s Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU).
Speaking at the event, TCN Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz, represented by the Executive Director, Human Resources and Corporate Services, Mrs. Abiodun Afolabi-Fadahunsi, described the initiative as a significant step towards reinforcing the company’s commitment to ethical standards and zero tolerance for corrupt practices.
Abdulaziz said the credibility of TCN depended not only on its achievements but also on the manner in which such achievements were attained.
He urged staff to familiarise themselves with the policy document and ensure that its provisions guided their daily decisions and conduct.
He commended the ACTU and others involved in developing the document, noting that its purpose went beyond preventing corruption to promoting a culture of honesty, fairness, accountability, transparency and professionalism.
The TCN boss also called on employees to support the effective implementation of the policy and uphold its principles in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Earlier, Chairman of ACTU, TCN, Mrs. E. Benibo, said the unveiling represented more than the presentation of a policy document, describing it as a demonstration of the collective commitment of management and staff to strengthening integrity, transparency and accountability within the company.
Benibo said corruption weakens institutions, erodes public trust and leads to the waste of valuable resources, stressing that tackling the menace required the commitment of every member of staff.
Also speaking, a representative of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and ACTU Desk Officer attached to TCN, Mrs. Monsurat Ajoke Ifeajika, provided an overview of the policy document and highlighted its role in shaping conduct, guiding decisions and strengthening institutional systems.
According to her, the policies provide guidance on the prevention, detection, reporting and response to unethical and corrupt practices within the organisation.
The highlight of the event was the formal unveiling of the Anti-Corruption Policy Document, which TCN said would serve as a framework for promoting ethical conduct and accountability across the company.
