FG set to explore alternative sources of energy – Minister

The Minister of Science and Technology Dr Ogbonnya Onu has said the Federal government is vigorously exploring alternative sources of energy for the country, Daily Trust has reported.

Dr Onu said this when the executives of International Energy Charter Mission Team on Energy Investment Risk Assessment paid a courtesy call on him in his office during the week.

The Minister said that his Ministry is championing the study and research innovation in wind energy, biomass, solar and hydro that will “enable us to utilize those resources we cannot exhaust over a time.”

Earlier, Investment Coordinator, of the International Energy Charter, Mr Ishita Plant said that the aim of the Investment Risk Assessment is to help countries do what is right, create synergy and bring out those things that will benefit the people.
