NNPC had informed the management of Dangote Group of its intention to station a team of six to 10 people permanently at the $20 billion refinery.
The refinery idea was conceived 25 years ago to transform the country’s energy landscape and liberate Nigerians from the economic dependence that has been holding the country back.

Aliko Dangote has even gone public with some of his complaints about the situation.
Aliko Dangote has before now, been into the manufacturing of cement, sugar, noodles, and fertilisers, among other valuable products.
There was a geometric leap in 2023 when the country imported fuel worth $2.08bn.
He was responding to the accusation that the President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote leveled against the NNPCL.
“Let them (NNPCL) buy me out and run the refinery the best way they can,” Mr Dangote says.
The visit is the second visit to the refinery by National Assembly members this year.
