The MoU is designed to deepen and strengthen the strategic partnership between the REA through the Solar Power Naija (SPN) Programme and InfraCredit in a bid to catalyse long-term local currency investments into the Nigeria solar off-grid space.

These studies have revealed very significant system cost differences between the two main gas-to-power technologies the country is currently considering.
This regional project aims at electrification through mini-grids powered by renewable energy.
The proposed acquisition includes Lekela Power’s portfolio of operational wind power projects, which have a combined installed capacity of over 1 gigawatt (GW), mainly located in South Africa, Egypt and Senegal. It also includes Lekela’s 1.8 GW pipeline of greenfield projects, the majority of which are anticipated to reach financial close in the near future.
